Wrapping up 2019, Welcoming 2020

It's a new year and a brand new decade! Here are my highlights from the knitting year 2019.

In 2019, I completed 24 projects and knitted 13.3 kilometers (over 14,500 yards) of yarn. My biggest project in terms of yardage was Tweed Is Still the New Black with 1,338 m or 1,463 yd. The smallest knit was Hibernia Headband which took only 97 m (107 yd).

The project that took me the longest to finish was my Autumn in Mirkwood cardigan with 317 days. Granted, I'd already started it in fall 2018! The quickest project was Hibernia Mitts which took me just 3 days to complete.

All talvi knits pattern released in 2018

In 2019, I released 20 new knitting patterns: 5 shawls, 4 garments, 2 pairs of socks, and 9 small accessories. I'm also working on some secret projects slated to come out in 2020. 🤫

Spring It On! project gallery on Ravelry

The Most Knitted title goes to the 2019 mystery shawl pattern, Spring It On! with 106 projects on Ravelry. Bronze Age wins the Most Hearts contest by a landslide with 961 ❤ on Ravelry. It also happens to be my personal favorite of the patterns I designed this year.

In 2019, I wrote 53 new blog posts. The most-read and the most-shared blog post was the tutorial for catching long floats in colorwork on the next round.

Let's take a brief look into 2020. Again this year I asked my mailing list members what kinds of designs they'd like to see in the upcoming year. This time it's a very close race between cardigans and shawls. You're in luck because those just happen to be my favorite patterns to design!
