Green Falling

Like I wrote last week, even I managed to finish a cowl for the Free Falling KAL. I have a tendency to get really excited at the start of a KAL and then peter out towards the end. This time I persevered and finished with even time to spare. Just one day but hey, that's still time!

For my second Free Falling I picked green, black, and gray colors. All were leftovers from previous projects, such as Interleaved and In the Weeds socks, or the upcoming Pontefract cardigan.

This time I wanted to use one of the suggested lace patterns that I didn't knit in the original sample: the Ear of Corn lace. I think it was very suitable for the olive green yarn I'd picked.

Ribbing and the garter stitch dividers were done in gray sock yarn. I used black tweed for the honeycomb lace I love so much, and just black-and-green striped sections in between.

In the end I threw this crazy stripe with teeny, tiny leftover balls I wanted to get rid of. And my favorite part? That neon green section!
