Free Falling KAL Wrap-up
January was all about the Free Falling KAL in the talvi knits group on Ravelry (seizure warning). With the next KAL coming really soon it's time to wrap up this one.
Over 50 finished cowls were posted in the finished object thread. There are now 71 finished projects with nearly 30 still in progress. The most prolific knitalongers finished not just one or even two but three cowls in January! An honorary mention goes to Jofraima who was the first to finish in just four days. Even I managed to finish a cowl for the KAL but more on that next week.
I loved seeing all the different color combinations, each of them beautiful. There were greens...
... blues ...
... purples ...
... red, oranges, and yellows ...
... pinks (LOTS of pinks!) ...
... neutrals ...
... and scrappy, happy colorful ones!
One lucky winner was drawn at random at the end of the KAL to receive a hand-sewn project bag, and the winner was EisblumeIna. Congratulations! I picked fabrics for the project bag featuring her favorite colors: blues, greens, and teals. My kinda gal! :)
I used the trusty Hueloco Holiday Bag pattern which has become one of my favorite zipper bag patterns. This time I mixed things up and put the narrow fabric block on top.
Pattern: Hueloco Holiday Bag
Fabric: Urban Zoologie Elephants from Robert Kaufman Fabrics in the colorway "Spring" and Green Fern from Bear Essentials 2 by P & B Textiles
Notions: 30 cm zipper, fusible interfacing, sewing thread
