1. What information is collected
When you contact me either via the contact form or direct email you are required to provide your name and email address so that I can reply to you. I store these emails within my own email provider so that I have a record of our discussion. These emails are never shared and your details remain private.
In order to participate in test knits you are required to provide your Ravelry username and email address so that I can share the pattern with you and you are able to participate in the test knit discussion. I maintain a record of test knitters with information on your Ravelry username, email address, previously completed test knits, and test knitting preferences. This information is never shared and remains private.
2. Why and how private information is collected and used
I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
as needed to provide my services, such as for internal record keeping, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law, and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving my services.
3. Information collected by and shared with third parties
I may collect, use, retain, and share your information with third parties if I have a good belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
