Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 4, 2021

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase a pattern from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control. You can reference their respective privacy policies (Section 3 below) to learn more about their privacy practices.

1. What information is collected

Contacting me

When you contact me either via the contact form or direct email you are required to provide your name and email address so that I can reply to you. I store these emails within my own email provider so that I have a record of our discussion. These emails are never shared and your details remain private.

Test knitting

In order to participate in test knits you are required to provide your Ravelry username and email address so that I can share the pattern with you and you are able to participate in the test knit discussion. I maintain a record of test knitters with information on your Ravelry username, email address, previously completed test knits, and test knitting preferences. This information is never shared and remains private.

2. Why and how private information is collected and used

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

  • as needed to provide my services, such as for internal record keeping, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support

  • when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list

  • if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law, and

  • as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving my services.

3. Information collected by and shared with third parties

I may collect, use, retain, and share your information with third parties if I have a good belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

This website uses cookies to give you the best experience and web beacons for internal analytics. A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or mobile device. Once you agree, the cookie allows the website to "remember" your actions or preferences over time, such as allowing the use of a shopping cart.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. You can also delete cookies stored by your browser whenever you like. Note that this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Object

You can object to (a) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (b) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.

Complain

If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

If you believe that any information held on you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact me as soon as possible using the contact information below. I will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
