Body
- Cast on 178 sts on size 4.5mm (US 7) straight

row (= 176 sts). Work even until piece measures 35 cm / 13¾ in.
Front
- Armhole shaping: Change to 5.5mm (US 9) straight
needles. Cast off 3 sts, knit 85 sts. Slip the remaining 88 sts (= the back) to a
holder. Cast off 3 sts at the beginning of the next row. Knit 14 rows, while dec 1 st at

until piece measures 51 cm / 20 in (armhole measures 16 cm / 6¼ in), with 68
sts remaining.
- Neck shaping: Work both sides at the same time.
Work 27 sts. Slip the next 14 sts to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, work remaining
27 sts. At each neck edge, cast off every other row 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st
twice, until 18 sts remain.
- At the same time work shoulder shaping: Work
even until piece measures 57 cm / 22½ in (armhole measures 22 cm / 8½ in).
*(Cast off 9 sts at armhole edge of next row. Work 1 row even.)* 2 times.

the holder. Cast off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Knit 14 rows, while dec 1 st at
each end of next and every following alternate row until 68 sts remaining. Continue until
piece measures 56 cm / 22 in (armhole measures 21 cm / 8¼ in), with 68 sts
remaining.
- Neck shaping: Work both sides at the same time.
Work 25 sts. Slip the next 18 sts to a holder. With a second ball of yarn, work remaining
25 sts. At each neck edge, cast off every other row 3 sts once and 2 sts twice, until
18 sts remain.
- Work shoulder shaping as for front (step 3).
Sleeves
- Cast on 41 sts on size 4.5mm (US 7) short circular needle (or dpn's).
Mark the last stitch of the row. Work in garter stitch for 3 cm / 1¼ in.
- Change to size 5.5mm (US 9) circular needle (or dpn's) and stocking
stitch. Work even until piece measures 9 cm / 3½ in.
- Inc 1 st at each end of next row making the increases before and
after the marked stitch, then every following 5th row 15 times to 73 sts (see a
picture of making the increases).

Turn the work (ie. do not work in circular knitting any longer), cast off 3 sts at beg of
next row. Dec 1 st at each end of every row 7 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every
2nd row 9 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every row 7 times. Cast off
remaining 20 sts loosely.

- 1 st from left shoulder seam
- 18 sts from left front neck edge
