Tour de Fleece 2012 - Day 12

Now back to our regularly scheduled spinning. Today’s spinning podcast was no podcast. Instead, I watched the first Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law Sherlock Holmes movie. It got a little intense at places and it probably affected my spinning. :D Total spinning time: 2 hours.

Anyhoo, I started a new spinning project, a 40/60 BFL and merino mix from Wollinchen. The colorway is called Flamingo in the Sun, an interesting mix of hot pink, dove gray, and navy. This mix is so soft I want it next to my skin – I’m going for a 2-ply shawl yarn, about lace to fingering weight.

And the skein of Finnsheep yarn is finished!

  • On Ravelry: Mixed Finnsheep - TDF #2

  • Yardage: 140 m / 153 yd

  • Skein weight: 104 g / 3.7 oz

  • Yarn weight: 135 m/100 g or 680 ypp

  • WPI: 9 (worsted weight)

  • Plies: 2-ply

I love how squishy this turned out. Again, no idea what to make with it but that’s not the point, is it? :)
