Ravens Rising
Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade is the designer of many beautiful patterns, mostly shawls. Recently, she had a great promotion for her Dream Big 2014 collection, and I just had to buy it. This shawl had a big say in that decision but now I’m eagerly awaiting for what’s to come next!
On Ravelry: Ravens Rising
Pattern: Fireflies Rising Shawlette by Helen Stewart
Yarn: Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Raven, one gram short of an entire skein or 379 yards/347 m
Needles: 3.5 mm for cast-on, 4.5 mm for body
Mods: Added one extra WS row, bound of using the Russian bind-off on a RS row.
I was supposed to run out of yarn on this project. The Hedgehog Fibres Sock had less yards than called for in the pattern, and I was prepared to bind-off a few rows sooner than in the pattern. Turns out, I had just enough, even enough to add an extra row to maximize yarn usage. Yarn chicken – game, set, and match!
