A Pair of Stripes
Stripes have completely overtaken me this spring, especially stripy socks.
On Ravelry: Grrrrellow Strrrripes
Pattern: plain vanilla toe-up socks, 56 sts, purled the last stitch of front and back needle to hide the jog
Yarn: main color: 220 yards/201 m of Garnstudio DROPS Fabel in #200 Grey, contrasting color: 115 yards/105 m of Sandnes Garn Sisu Solids in #2117 Yellow
Needles: 2.5 mm
On Ravelry: Big Jumps
Pattern: Stashbuster Spirals by Janine Hempy, modified for worsted-weight yarn and four stripes
Heel according to Widdershins Revisited from K2Knits – this is my go-to heel construction for toe-up socks
Yarn: three colors of worsted-weight nylon-reinforced sock yarn from a local harvest fair (undyed Kainuu Grey, undyed Kainuu Black, and redwood dyed), 304 yards/278 m in total
Needles: 3.75 mm for stockinette, 3.0 mm for ribbing
The spiral or helix striping creates one-row stripes with no visible jogs! Fascinating – I’m completely hooked in this method and have two more socks on the needles using the same technique.
