Are you ready for some March Mystery? The Free Falling KAL was so much fun, it's time for another knitalong. And this time it's a mystery shawl.

What is it?

I've teamed up with indie dyer extraordinare, Samelin Dyeworks, to bring a four-part mystery shawl in two colors. Zusammen is a mystery shawl with an asymmetrical triangle shape. The shawl features garter stitch, short rows, stripes, and lace… all the things you love!

The pattern comes with both written and charted instructions for the stitch patterns. And the best of all: there are no purl stitches at all.

What do I need?

Pick two skeins of fingering weight and let them blend together. Use colors with a strong contrast to create a striking, graphic look, or two complementary colors for a smooth and subtle effect.

For the main color, choose a solid, semi-solid, speckled, or variegated yarn. Pick a solid or semi-solid — with or without subtle speckles — for contrast color. Check out the color pairings available on the Samelin Dyeworks Etsy shop.

You'll also need a 3.5 mm / US #4 long circular needle, five stitch markers, and a darning needle to weave in the ends.

When do the clues come out?

The mystery shawl pattern is released in four clues every Thursday on March 1, 8, 15, and 22, 2017. Clues will be delivered via Ravelry. Each clue is accompanied with a weekly technique tutorial. To receive the tutorials — and a 15% discount on the pattern — join my mailing list.

What about prizes?

Yes, there will be three (3) prizes. Each prize will consist of a hand-sewn project bag and a free pattern of your choice from my Ravelry store. The prizes will be awarded to

  • one lucky winner from the chatter thread on Ravelry

  • one lucky winner from the FO thread on Ravelry and

  • one lucky winner on Instagram using the hashtag #zusammenmkal

Get the Zusammen pattern, then join the talvi knits Ravelry group (seizure warning) to plan your colors — the chatter thread is already open!
