Advent Calendar Socks 2014

My friends Knittist and Skein over at the Where We Once Knitted blog (which is mostly in Finnish but the advent calendar posts are also in English) hosted their annual scrap yarn sock advent calendar. This was only the second year but I’m sure it’s going to be annual. :)

The idea is to knit as many rows as the date says (1 row on Dec 1st, 2 rows on Dec 2nd and so on, until Christmas Eve) with a color given in the instructions on the blog. And the instructions are the fun – and often surprising – bit, and can be interpreted as freely as you like! Last year’s was straight up striped sock but this year, they gave the option to do stranded knitting on some days. Of course, I had to up the ante and knit stranded every day. In the end, these ended up a collection of my favorite things knit into sock form. I’m particularly fond of the three foxes which were the only duplicate stitched charts on the socks.
